About NSS

Youth for a Cause — Cause for the Nation

Our History

The National Service Scheme (NSS) was launched by the Government of India on 24th September 1969 during the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi. Since then, NSS has grown into one of the largest student volunteer programmes in the world.

Established in 2005, the NSS unit of Shri Agrasen Mahavidyalaya has continually engaged students in meaningful social service — from rural outreach to public health drives, cultivating socially responsible citizens rooted in the ethos of service before self.

Core Objectives

Understand the community, identify needs and problems, develop civic responsibility, gain practical experience in group living, acquire leadership qualities, and practice national integration.

Local Unit Goals

Our local unit conducts blood donation camps, tree plantation drives, literacy programs for underprivileged children, cleanliness campaigns, health awareness camps, and annual seven-day residential camps in adopted villages.
